Thanks for releasing this! Thumbsup

Huh? That's Arc (the main protagonist of Chrono Ark), not CronoHeadscratch.

I was about to say, "Did you download the soundtrack?", but I saw your previous posts in this thread indicating that you did. Well, look at the zip file's content more closely:

Haha hurray for obvious "must be the album art" assumptions.

Yeah I don't know if Lalo was final on that portrait but I found it in my massive folder of content and thought it would be cool to show off how Crono would fit in the new art style.

I dunno why I included them in their beds haha I guess it's cute, there was tons more sprite stuff to show but I didn't know how Lena would feel about that, plus I had to make pdf's to reduce the amount of files that came with the soundtrack, so I tried to give a general impression.

I was also really gutted not being able to find different Aurora sprites, I reckon Lena just didn't get to those because I couldn't find them anywhere. Ah shit I forgot Solona's battle pose too. Oh well.

Oh, I forgot about that sprite sheet. Man, when I look at those things, everything looks so damned professional. T-T

This is a beautifully composed soundtrack, it's a shame it'll never be used. I was listening to some tracks like "Man, I wish I could use this in Among Thieves" haha. Also you made a lot of tracks, I'm kinda curious as to how you went about composing them without the game areas and what not even available to look at or explore/interact with. Solely of a description you've managed to bring something I will never know of to life.

Thanks man. I don't mind if people want to use any of the tracks for anything, the only downside is they're not looped.

I guess the ideas for the music comes mostly from the script, the artwork and just knowing it was Chrono related. I'd read the script with each update and just be able to imagine the game clearly. In my head, I've played Chrono Ark haha, like if I was going to make it myself I know exactly how I'd do it. Reading a script really helps me envision the game and hopefully my idea of it is in sync with the writer/developer. I've rarely had the luxury of being able to play whatever I've written music for so I have just gotten used to imagining it the way it seems it is going to be.

This whole package reminds me of how unfortunate it is to see all this work not seen through to completion. Because there's so much material here that's amazing, and it's probably not even a tenth of everything that was done by the entire team over the years.

This music, at the very least, won't get anywhere near the credit it deserves:

I won't be surprised when I hear more from you in the future (outside this place), Roe.

When I was doing rough readings of the script for Lena and Xen, I used to play whatever tracks I had and I can say that Roe is damn good at interpretation these things. I would argue that had the game been made he Roe would've been just as instrumental (no pun intended) for the tone of the game as Lenith. Personally I think more games should be like that.

I've had Destined to be Immortal in my head all day. I posit that it's the best damn boss theme ever made. Any challengers?

Possibly necrobumping, possibly breaking rules, but I'm a rebel.

Just downloaded your stuff, Roe. It's amazing. However, the one bad side effect was that it made me get all down about never being able to play the game or know the story you people spent so much time over. Dammit, guys, I had to go through months of therapy to get over the cancellation... I WAS MAKING PROGRESS.

In all seriousness though, amazing work, Roe. I think I've had Gemini to Die for on loop for an hour now. Haha.

I actually gave this a shoutout on dA when I heard about it. Not sure what good it did, but I'm glad Ark managed to make it out to the masses in some form, even if it's just the soundtrack.

Also, to make an oldfag joke, this answer your question about an OST, Slaix?

It all helps bro! When I released it I wouldn't have been too bothered if it stayed fairly obscure and no one knew about it since I wish there was a game. However I'm more than happy about how well it has done so far, and people are still listening!

Let me lay down some stats. I'm not gonna count the exact amount of listens/downloads over time because for 100 songs I just cannot be arsed haha. But! Since release there has been more than 30,000 individual song plays from the soundtrack, the entire soundtrack has been downloaded 602 times, there has also been quite a lot of individual song downloads - mostly the ones with Chrono arrangements - and strangely enough the theme of Chrono Ark was the most popular. Also it managed to reach #7 in the Bandcamp charts soon after release, that's the highest I personally saw it go to anyway and it stayed there for about a day. I also received some really nice messages about the soundtrack, some sharing the sentiments of wishing there could have been a game. Honestly I'm really surprised I haven't received any hate mail haha. So I'm, as we say in England, really chuffed about that!

So...it's really cool people were interested in the music alone. I've had a big break from music since the release, usually I go hide or something and sort of think about where I'm going or what to do next. I'm really excited about my new project I'm working on though, Rainfall, and have just started to work properly on that. Ill definitely post more about that as it starts to take shape more.

Also thanks for the support and kind words, you guys always inspired me.
